Meet Elsinore! Elsinore is TINY for a Great Pyrenees -- a true pocket Pyr! We don't expect her to get much more than 60 pounds. In January of 2023, Elsinore and 12 puppies were rescued from a construction site in Fort Stockton in West Texas. While we don't know anything about Elsinore's past, our guess is that she may have had a home and then was dumped when she got pregnant. Judging from her teeth, she's very young -- probably 1 - 2 years old. This could be her first litter, and it wouldn't surprise us if she got pregnant on her first heat cycle. She is house-trained, doesn't hesitate to go in the crate, and walks nicely on a leash. Elsinore has been out in the pasture, where she pretty much ignored the goats and the cattle. She is safe with chickens, but seems happiest in and around the house, so we think she would do best as a companion and not a working LGD. But it seems very possible that she might have the right temperament to be a good addition to a small homestead where she could live in the house and be trusted to join her humans in doing chores around the livestock.
